How the Philippines grading scale works
Universities in Philippines typically grade on the 1.0–5.0 Scale (1.0 = Best). On this scale, lower is better: 1.00 (Excellent) is the best possible result. Your GPA is the credit-weighted average of your grades: each course's grade points are multiplied by its credit hours, summed, and divided by the total credits taken.
| Grade | Points |
|---|---|
| 1.00 (Excellent) | 1 |
| 1.25 | 1.25 |
| 1.50 (Very Good) | 1.5 |
| 1.75 | 1.75 |
| 2.00 (Good) | 2 |
| 2.25 | 2.25 |
| 2.50 (Satisfactory) | 2.5 |
| 2.75 | 2.75 |
| 3.00 (Passing) | 3 |
| 5.00 (Failed) | 5 |
